Who Owns the World Bank?

The World Bank is similar to a cooperative in which 185 member countries are shareholders. The largest shareholder of the World Bank Group is the United States. Traditionally, the World Bank president has always been a U.S. citizen. This is the list of the member countries:

The World Bank members and owners reside in these regions Africa, Middle East & North Africa, Latin America & Caribbean, Europe & Central Asia, East Asia & the Pacific, and the Indian Subcontinent (South Asia).
